Training Locations
Practical training takes place in various government and private hospitals across all departments, hospital pharmacies, community pharmacies throughout the Palestinian governorates, and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

Current Student Placement Procedure for Practical Training

  • Community Pharmacy Training: Two students are assigned to each community pharmacy for a maximum of 6 hours daily, over the course of three academic semesters for Bachelor of Pharmacy students, and five semesters for Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students, totaling 1440 training hours.
  • Hospital Pharmacy Training: Two students per hospital pharmacy are assigned for 6 hours daily over a two-month period. This training is mandatory for PharmD students and optional for Bachelor of Pharmacy students.
  • Clinical Training for PharmD Students (32 credit hours): This clinical training enables students to develop their clinical knowledge and skills through direct involvement alongside specialist physicians and patient interaction. This hands-on experience provides numerous learning opportunities, and students are expected to fully engage and commit to maximize their benefit and make satisfactory progress in the program.

Students rotate through the following specialties (subject to change based on training capacity and professional developments)

  • Internal Medicine (8 weeks)
  • General Surgery and Anesthesia (6 weeks)
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology (4 weeks)
  • Pediatrics (6 weeks)
  • Oncology (4 weeks)
  • Nephrology (4 weeks)

Throughout these rotations, students conduct detailed evaluations of medical cases in collaboration with clinical physicians, and perform thorough assessments of pharmaceutical treatments under the supervision of clinical pharmacist trainers.

Clinical Training for Master of Clinical Pharmacy Students (12 credit hours)

Similar clinical training opportunities are provided, allowing students to enhance their clinical expertise through supervised patient care alongside specialist physicians.
Students rotate through the following specialties (subject to modification):

  • Internal Medicine (6 weeks)
  • General Surgery (3 weeks)
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology (3 weeks)
  • Pediatrics (6 weeks)
  • Oncology (3 weeks)
  • Nephrology (3 weeks)

As with PharmD students, master’s students conduct detailed case evaluations and pharmaceutical treatment assessments during their clinical placements.

Credit Hours for Training

  •  PharmD students register for 16 credit hours of training per semester, equivalent to 16 weeks of training.
  • Master of Clinical Pharmacy students register for 6 credit hours per semester, equivalent to 12 weeks of training.
