Internal Regulations
Article 1:
The Pharmaceutical Doctor Students Association is an independent, non-governmental student organization that derives its legitimacy from the student body and bases its programs on the will of its members.
Article 2:
Motto: Unity – Action – Advancement.
Article 3:
Headquarters: An-Najah National University.
Article 4:
The Association’s principles are based on the fundamental constants of the nation as stipulated in the Palestinian National Constitution and the laws of An-Najah National University.
Article 5:
The Association enjoys legal personality and financial independence.
Article 6:
The Association aims to:
- Defend the material and moral rights of Pharmaceutical Doctor students.
- Raise public awareness about the Pharmaceutical Doctor specialization.
- Promote students’ health awareness to improve the country’s health status.
- Foster communication with Pharmaceutical Doctor student groups in local, Arab, and international universities.
- Unite students and instill a spirit of solidarity among them.
- Contribute to raising the scientific and cultural level of students and promote recreational and sports activities within the university’s framework and coordination.
- Encourage scientific research and support the return of expatriate scientific talent.
- Link the university with the social environment.
- Establish a culture of dialogue and reinforce democratic principles inside and outside the university.
- Support and advocate for just causes worldwide.
- Contribute to environmental preservation.
- Strengthen friendship ties with student and youth organizations abroad.
Article 7:
The Association pursues its goals through all legitimate means.
Section One: Types of Membership
Article 8:
- Active Member: Granted to students currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate studies.
- Working Member: Granted to those actively working within the Association’s structures.
- Honorary Member: Granted to those who have provided services to the Association, including medical and pharmacy students, graduates, and professionals in related medical fields.
Membership is acquired by signing the membership form and receiving a membership card.
Section Two: Duties and Rights
Article 9:
Duties include:
- Adherence to the Association’s rules and decisions.
- Maintaining the unity of the Association.
Article 10:
Rights include:
- The right to nominate and vote as defined in the internal regulations.
- The right to express opinions within organizational frameworks.
- The right to contribute to and approve programs and projects according to Association bylaws.
- The right to resign.
Director: Oversees and approves committee activities, liaises with higher and external authorities, monitors membership database updates, and proposes bylaw amendments with unanimous consent of members regardless of membership type.
- Deputy Director: Assists the Director in their duties.
- Financial Committee: Handles budgeting, funding sources, and expenditure monitoring.
- Media Committee: Manages communication about the Association’s activities and decisions, including managing the Facebook page.
- Social Committee: Coordinates with the university and the Deanship to reserve halls and other logistics.
Article 11:
During the founding period, committees are appointed by the Association’s founder until elections are held.
Article 12:
Elections are held annually. Only active members who meet a point-based participation system (detailed separately) are eligible to run.
Article 13:
Elected bodies are accountable to their voters.
Article 14:
Decisions within the Association are made by absolute majority and are binding unless otherwise stated.
Article 15:
The Association may join regional and international student and youth organizations.
Article 16:
In the event the Association dissolves, its assets shall be transferred to the Pharmaceutical Doctor Program Department.
Article 17:
Founder: Iyass Zuhair Mohammed Zaghl – Pharmaceutical Doctor – An-Najah National University.
Article 18:
The point system is based on event participation and initiative involvement.
Article 19:
All extracurricular activities must be coordinated with the Cultural Committee of the Pharmacy Department before execution.
