The Cosmetics and Skincare Club (SCSC), in collaboration with the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), organized a distinctive interactive event in the form of a hands-on competition that brought together students from both clubs. This initiative aimed to promote teamwork and encourage the exchange of knowledge across different disciplines.
At the beginning of the event, an introductory overview was presented outlining the objectives, workflow, and practical experiments to be conducted. This helped students understand the application process and prepare for effective and organized participation within the laboratories.
The event included two practical experiments in the field of cosmetic production. The first involved creating solid perfumes with distinctive natural scents, while the second focused on preparing lotion bars. These activities took place in the pharmacy laboratories designated for the formulation of cosmetic and fragrance products.
The event was supervised by the Head of the Cosmetics Department, Dr. Ahmad Eid, with support and follow-up from Dr. Noor Barakat, Dr. Saber Abu Jabal, Dr. Alaa Barakat, and Dr. Saba Hmeid.
At the conclusion of the event, the winning teams were honored following a fair evaluation based on several criteria, including texture quality, teamwork during the process, uniqueness of scents, and adherence to precise measurements and proper preparation standards.
Both the Cosmetics and Skincare Club (SCSC) and IEEE emphasized that this event is part of a series of joint activities aimed at strengthening students’ practical skills and enhancing their hands-on experience within an interactive learning environment. It also contributes to fostering collaboration across disciplines, refining both academic and practical expertise, and encouraging positive student engagement through teamwork and direct laboratory experience—reinforcing the concept of learning by doing and promoting initiative and active participation.
