Knowledge replaced fear, and awareness led to care

On World Leprosy Day, the Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation at An-Najah National University highlighted the importance of raising awareness in dealing with leprosy—a chronic infectious disease that has long been surrounded by misconceptions and social stigma. Despite these challenges, the Federation emphasized that leprosy is completely curable, especially when diagnosed early, enabling patients to live healthy and normal lives with proper care.

Our goal was not only to share information but also to break barriers. By promoting accurate knowledge, we worked to challenge harmful myths, reduce discrimination, and foster a more supportive and inclusive environment for those affected. We emphasized the importance of early detection in preventing complications and the role of proper medical care in improving patient outcomes.

Through this campaign, we aimed to empower communities with reliable information, encourage open dialogue, and reinforce the idea that compassion and understanding are essential in combating stigma. Together, we replaced fear with knowledge and silence with awareness.

In collaboration with JPSA, LPSA, EPSF, SPSF, and TAPSA.

PSFNNU proudly presented the “Leprosy Awareness Q&A Campaign”—an initiative dedicated to education, engagement, and meaningful impact.
